One day, four shirts, three pants

I now understand why mothers always say the laundry never ends. Jacob polished off four shirts and three pairs of pants today.

Another beautiful day on Wednesday. But, rain was in the forecast (which never came), so even though it was slightly chilly this morning and very damp from the rain Tuesday night, we headed outside.

Outfit one's pants came to an end when Jacob sat in the mud.

We came inside and changed into new pants and then went back outside for more fresh air. Jacob almost fell asleep before lunch, so we went ahead and ate lunch right at 11:00 to avoid a day of bad sleep for the little guy. He took an awesome nap, and when he woke up we headed back outside.

The weather had improved, and the long sleeve shirt was too warm. Off with shirt number one in exchange for a short-sleeve shirt.

This shirt lasted us through most of the afternoon, and we were still outside when Bob got home from work.

Jacob enjoyed his swing.

Played football. And then we had our first cookout of the year. Instead of pulling out the patio furniture from the shed, we thought we would have a picnic on the deck. Everything was set until I decided to let Jacob try his hand at drinking out of a cup. He's done it before, but he was too distracted and ended up spilling water all over himself and the picnic blanket. Off with shirt number two and pants number two. And, dinner was moved inside. After dinner Jacob asked to wash his hands. Some fun in the water led to shirt number three being tossed into the hamper.

Since Jacob was absolutely exhausted and having a rough time making it through dinner awake, we pulled out the stroller and headed for a walk around the neighborhood. The warm weather was amazing, and so nice to see all the kids outside playing. Even better that my kid was one of them this year!
