Well, recently Jacob has been asking to be put in his crib. So, I've been putting him in his crib, covering him up with his blanket, and walking out of the room. And guess what??? HE GOES TO SLEEP! I know for most parents this isn't a big deal and their kids have been doing this for a year or so already. But, for me, this is amazing. I'm so glad he's ready, and that I waited until he was ready.
I truly enjoyed rocking him to sleep. To watch his little face relax and sleep so soundly, and to see him know that he was safe, secure, and loved. I'm a little sad those days are coming to an end, and I know with our next child we won't be able to have this same time at bedtime.
I'm sure we still have some rocking ahead of us. There will be days in the next few weeks where he'll want us to rock him, or have a hard time getting himself to sleep and we'll hear him on the monitor and go pick him up and rock him for a while. But, even if half of the time he is going to be on his own right now, it's just so amazing! He is growing up so fast! Next thing you know, he'll be in a big boy bed!
In other news, Jacob and I headed to the mall last night to look for an Easter outfit for him. I lucked out and found these pants from Gymboree for only $2.99. I'm not sure why there were on the clearance rack, since they are selling the same pants at full price right now at almost $30. Maybe they had them from last year, too? I'm not sure. I've looked over them a billion times to make sure nothing is wrong with them, and had Jacob try them on. Looks good to me!
Then, headed to Old Navy and found this shirt. Bought it at normal price of $10.50, but with such cheap pants, this is still one of the least expensive Easter outfits I liked!
Bob got home and looked at the outfit and chuckled. We have different styles, and when we aren't together to pick out his clothes he knows this is what I will bring home! This is Jacob's first pink shirt, but Bob likes it, so it's a keeper. Now I just need to find some shoes, and we are done with Easter clothes. Boys are so easy!
Love, love, love the outfit!!!!
