Monday Buddy

My dad is off work on Mondays, so Jacob and I consider him our Monday Buddy. Sometimes, my dad needs to get some stuff done around the house or actually heads into work anyway. But, usually on Mondays we spend the day together.
Today, Dad came down to our house. With the time change, Jacob actually slept until 9:00, which is by far the latest he has ever slept. He's also napping later in the day and going to bed much later, so I think it's going to take a week or two to get back to a normal schedule. I can't lie though, I really liked getting some extra sleep this morning instead of the normal 6:30 a.m. wake-up call!

Jacob and I spent the morning playing together, and he is just getting so smart!
He is actually 21 1/2 months old today. He is talking in two or three word sentences, and is picking up new words constantly. I can't count how many words he has now, but if I took a guess, I would think we are around 200 words now. Within the past few weeks he has started naming colors. For the longest time, everything was "blue." But now he can point to things and name them correctly for blue, black, brown, red, pink, and purple. He can point to the other colors (yellow, green, orange) but just can't say them yet. He's jumping really well now, and is quite the dancer! He is obsessed with Thomas the Train and the movie "Cars," and plays pretty well by himself for a little while.

Grandpa came, and Jacob showed him how to make fruit salad.
And then took him by the face to tell him how to play trains.
Followed by patting Grandpa's hair.We spent the rest of the day going to Wal-Mart, having some lunch, and more play time (with his new train!). He finally looked exhausted, so down for a nap and Dad headed home. What a great day - I love watching Jacob spend time with his Grandpa. (Not sure why the camera put the blue dot on my dad's head, so we took another one, which turned out even better!)
