A day in the life of a super hero

Jacob has gone through training, and is now a super hero. He can fly. He can jump over buildings. And, he can run faster than the speed of light. All thanks to his party tonight at Gymboree, where he transformed from Baby Jacob to Batman Jacob.

The day started with some trains. He lined them all up in front of him. I think he did this for two reasons. One: to admire his collection. Two: to show all of us what a sucker his mom and dad are for his obsession. He has so many! But, he literally plays with each of them, and knows them all (and calls them all) by name. So, yes, I'm justifying buying this collection. And then, I furthered his collection by giving him a new train (we have a stash in our closet that we pull out every once in a while for a surprise). Welcome, Sir Handel and the Apple Car. Jacob loves you already. And then, Jacob turned into Batman. And, sometimes, Batman enjoys a parade. He gave me the maracas and decided he would go with vanilla and almond extract. If you didn't already know, Batman plays the drums. Without pants. And, Batman Jacob cooks some pasta. We had a very full day already, even before the party! The plan for dinner was some chicken thighs, but after thawing them out, they smelled a little off and I decided that even though my son is a super hero, stinky chicken might be his downfall. So, Bob and Jacob ran to pick up some pizza and crazy bread.
Off to the party we went. We were a little bummed that Bob couldn't make it to the party, but he had to work. We had a great time at the party. The only negative was that some parents thought "Super Hero Party" was really code for "Unsupervised, Crazy, Run Into Each Other, Push, Hit, Kick, and Cry Party." So, we stayed away from those children. The party was great though - Jacob learned some super hero moves and personalized his own cape, which was a very cute craft idea. We love Gymboree, and the themed parties they have throughout the year.
Getting his secret mission.
His pretend cape.
The pictures I took with his cape from craft time won't download right now for some reason. I also have an adorable picture of Jacob and his teacher, who was dressed as Bat Girl, that I'll try to get posted soon.
