Zoo with Friends

Monday's forecast was calling for only a high of about 70 degrees, which sounded like a perfect day to meet the Wileys for a day at the zoo. I told Jenny that I really take for granted how easy outings with her family are, and how well our kids just get along and hang together when we are out. The weather was fantastic, and the kids had such a great time. I was shocked when Jacob made us all sit through the dog show, even though I could have sworn he would dislike the entire thing. He cheered so loudly and screamed at the top of his lungs so much. His face was bright red and he looked like his face could explode with how much he was yelling for those dogs.
The back of all five kids together - about the best I could do without being obnoxious and making them all pose, which I'm sure would have caused an unnecessary meltdown.
The boys looking for the penguins to pass through under their feet. I love how Joshua tries to hang with the big boys so much and is always right in there. He would follow Miles anywhere.
The big boys, who got a big kick out of seeing the giraffe poop, a nice little show from the monkeys, and all kinds of other boy things.
The boys checking out the map, plotting the next stop in their journey through the zoo.
The boys looked exhausted when we finally headed out around 2:00, but despite the tiring morning, they were having no part of a nap. My brakes were grinding super loud, and we knew we were in for some work, so I went ahead and let the boys skip their nap and took them to bring my car in. Bob met us there, and we had dinner while the car was being finished. So nice to have a quiet car and not sound like our car is going to explode every time we come to a stop!
