Shopping Fix

Jacob has been feeling so much better, thank goodness. His happy mood is returning, and he's more energetic again!

Yesterday morning Bob, Jacob and I headed to the outlet mall in Edinburgh. I needed a few more things for Jacob's fall clothes, some maternity clothes for myself, and just wanted to look around. It ended up being a beautiful day, and even though the sun got hot, we stayed in the shade and Jacob was happy. He was mostly happy because he was able to run everywhere since Bob was with me and he didn't have to stay in the stroller too long. We ended up getting more than we intended, but were very pleased. Jacob needed new shoes, so we hit up the Stride Rite outlet and found Saucony shoes for Jacob for only $19.99. He's off the "baby" wall and onto the boy side of the store, which just seems crazy to me. We also found him a fall jacket and two shirts, a few maternity tops, and some casual T-shirts for Bob. We then stopped for lunch and made it home in time for Jacob to take a nap and for me to sort through all the fall clothes we have for Jacob.

I bought Jacob's fall/winter clothes at the end of the season this past year when everything goes on clearance, and was afraid they were going to be too big. But, thank goodness Jacob decided to have a growth spurt in the past month, and everything will be perfect by the time September/October weather kicks in. It's so fun for me to pull out all of the clothes I bought him for only like $2 a piece. I'm able to buy him name brand clothes for less than I could find at a resale shop, so for now buying ahead works well for us! I even have his snow pants and winter jacket this year - he has an Osh Kosh set that was originally $85 that I bought for $10. Unfortunately, even if we have a boy this time around, most of the clothes won't work since our kids will be born at complete opposite times of the year!

The rest of the day yesterday was spent at home relaxing and playing as a family. I got some laundry done, Bob made dinner, and then we headed outside for a walk. When we got home from the walk, Bob decided to cut the grass, which actually worked out because the little boy who lives behind us came down the street and the two of them played while I caught up a little bit with my neighbor. Her boy is 4, and she also has another boy who is 9 months old. We actually have quite a few kids in the two cul-de-sacs we live on, which is nice.

This morning was beautiful, and we headed to Holliday Park. We LOVE this park, and even though it is a far drive from our house, it's close to my parents and we can have Jacob nap here instead of driving all the way home. We played at the park, Jacob was fascinated with the bugs he found, and then we met my mom for lunch. Jacob loves going to parks, but he isn't fond of playground equipment just yet. He does it for a little while, but mostly likes to take off running through fields and play chase with us. His new shoes have been getting quite the workout the past two days!
