Back-to-School Night

Tonight was Jacob's back-to-school night for preschool. Time goes by so fast - now I'm a parent at these things?!
I was so proud of our little guy. The teacher told us that Jacob is so nice, plays with everyone so nice, and they love having him in class. He follows all the rules, listens and talks so well, and they said he is really smart. That's such a great compliment to hear as a mom!
Jacob and Joshua are both sick. I took them to the doctor yesterday, and Jacob just has a cold and Joshua has a double ear infection. But, it is Jacob who is doing the worst - he is just miserable. He didn't even want his ice cream tonight at the ice cream social.
Jacob has been singing "I-B, I-B, I-B, that's the book for me!" I didn't know what this was, and his teachers said it is from a CD they play sometimes in class - "B-I-B-L-E that's the book for me." So funny that he picked up on that!
They said every morning he comes in and spells his name for them while he finds his hook. He is so proud to tell his teachers every day that he knows how to spell his name.
I'm so proud of my little guy I could burst. He loves school, and is doing such a great job already!

Dinosaurs, New Moves, Potty Fun, Boys

Dinosaurs.
This morning we woke up and decided to head to the children's museum to beat the 100 degree weather we were having. Even though it is Friday, and I am exhausted (Bob is rarely home during the week these days because of work), but I knew we would have fun if I just got us all packed up and did it! We were there right when the museum opened and spent time playing dinosaurs, looking at trains, going through the dragons area, and hitting up Playscape at the end. I loved seeing Jacob understand different aspects of the dinosaurs exhibit. He even drew a picture of a triceratops fighting a T-Rex. I loved it! Definitely a keeper. He loves to learn new things. Joshua of course stayed awake the entire time (the boy does not sleep!) and had a good time watching trains, touching as much as possible, and laughing with his brother. The boys took a good nap this afternoon.

New Moves.
Jacob has some stellar new dance moves. His dancing is so fun to watch, and he really gets into it. I love watching his new moves and how proud he is of his balance when he dances, haha.

Potty Fun.
Since Joshua follows Jacob into the bathroom every time, Jacob has now starting waiting to pee until Joshua crawls around the corner. Jacob goes into the bathroom, pulls his pants down, and then waits to hear Joshua's hands slapping down on the ground on his way to the bathroom. He will not pee until he sees Joshua's little face round the corner.

Boys.
Some updates on the boys:
- Joshua understands the word "no." He actually will turn around and look at me and do this fake laugh he has that is adorable and hilarious.
- Jacob has started asking "how much bucks it is?" when he wants to know how much something costs.
- Mom ordered pizza and breadsticks from Pizza Hut tonight for diner. Jacob asked us "who snot on these breadsticks?" because of the little crumbs on top.
- Sometimes when Jacob comes out of his room after nap, I have to take a second look because he is looking so old, and so tall. He is just unbelievably handsome, funny, sweet and is looking way too old lately!
- Jacob is in a big poop stage - wanting to talk about poop all the time. I told him that he cannot talk about poop at school, just at home. So he starts chanting, "Poop! Pee! Toots!"
- Joshua is pulling up like a crazy man and desperately trying to stand on his own. He is going to be our daring little man, for sure.

Flowers for Mommy

I found the popular Crock Pot Girls on Facebook and decided to make a chicken spaghetti recipe, but lacked the noodles. So, we were off to Wal-Mart this morning to get that and a few other things (like a new monster truck for Jacob).
I thought Joshua would take a nap, but he was still awake, so Jacob pushed Joshua in the cart. It is so cute to see Joshua sitting up in the cart and looking around at his surroundings.
We pick up what we needed, and I gave Jacob a little more freedom and run down a few aisles because it was early, there was no one there, and it is so freakin hot outside that I knew this was the best shot he had at stretching his legs today.
We pick out a monster truck with dirty tires, swing through and pick up some extra packs of crayons, and then head to the register.
On the way to the register, we pass the jewelry counter, where there are some random areas of flowers set up to get your last minute purchase. Jacob picks up a bouquet of flowers and says, "I have an idea. I'll buy flowers for Mommy!" He threw the flowers into the buggy. I started to take them out and put them back, but then saw the big smile on his face and how proud he was for picking up some flowers for me, that I picked Jacob up in the store, kissed him a million times, and reminded him how perfect he is and how happy he makes me. Best $10 I have ever spent! Here are the most beautiful, special, perfect flowers I have ever gotten! The chicken spaghetti was delicious, and I also made whoopie pies from a Pillsbury kit we picked up at Wal-Mart pre-flower buying. Also delicious.

And, here is a picture of Jacob and Joshua before preschool Wednesday morning. Yes, Jacob's shoulder is wet because Joshua climbs up Jacob constantly, and he slobbered all over his shoulder. Jacob thinks this is hilarious and will put himself in front of Joshua just waiting to be climbed on and tackled. They are too funny together.

Best picture I could get - Joshua was trying to get away, and Jacob pulled him up by the back of his shirt.
